Abstract: This website features the 1999 Summer Biology Institute, hosted by the Woodrow Wilson Foundation Leadership Program for Teachers. The focus of this particular Institute was Biodiversity. Included on the site are links to the following lesson plans created by teacher participants: Bacterial Etoufee, Hunting for the Elusive Amoeba; The Spice of Life; Oil Eaters; Using a Winogradsky Column; Oil Be Seeing You; Cellulose Digesters; The Effect of Antimicrobial Agents on Bacteria; Baiting Traps for Microbes, Ciliates, and Flagellates; and An Inquiry Investigation into the Biodiversity of Extremophiles.
